- Certified Association Executive (CAE) – A CAE certification is proof that a certain individual is capable of leading an organization. However, it is necessary for an individual to have a certain degree of education and work experience to appear for the exam. A four-hour computerized test, this exam is conducted twice a year.
- Certified Special Events Professional (CSEP) – Established in 1993, this designation is awarded to those individuals who have successfully delivered special events owing to their expertise and skills. Professionals who have a minimum experience of three years, managing private as well as public events such as sports, festivals, fair etc., are eligible to apply. The exam is conducted four times per year. Once acquired, this certification is valid for five years.
- Certified Professional in Catering and Events (CPCE) – The National Association for Catering and Events offers this prestigious professional certification. It includes subjects like Catering, Accounting, Contracting, Marketing etc. Application process is online and once the application is approved the applicant must pay the exam fees of $525 USD.
- Certified Conference and Events Professional (CCEP) – A certification for event planners launched by The Association of Collegiate Conference and Events Directors-International (ACCED-I). Only ACCED-I members can apply for the certification. The applicant must either have a minimum of 36 months of full-time work experience in the Collegiate Conference and Events industry, or have 24 months of full-time work experience in the same and a university degree (Bachelors or Masters) in a related field. Once selected, the applicant can pay non-refundable fees of $375 USD and enroll for the program
- Certified Government Meeting Professional (CGMP) – CGMP is designed by the Society of Government Meeting Professionals (SGMP). It is specifically meant for event professionals and suppliers working in the public sector. The highest designation available for Government meeting professionals comes under the Federal Government. They aim to provide people with an understanding of the rules affecting government meetings, and also increase the exposure of Government Markets. It’s not mandatory to be a member of SGMP, the requirements are 1 year of work experience in the hospitality industry and registration fees of $595 USD.
- Certified Quality Event Planner (CQEP) – The Quality Event Planner Certification, designed and issued by the Management and Strategy Institute gives the right qualifications and skills from idea screening and risk analysis up to planning-budgeting and event promotion. To get started, having knowledge of the basic principles of event planning is sufficient. Within a price of $299.95, one is covered with the online study material. A 3-hour exam to test your competency, a self-paced course, a certification with 30 Professional Competency Units from MSI is what will be added to one’s professional portfolio.
- Digital Event Strategist (DES) – Online Events and meetings have become a trend in the event management industry after the pandemic. Taking this into Consideration the Professional Convention Management Association offers an online course of 6 Modules – Digital Event Strategist Certification. It enables event professionals in planning and monetizing the digital and hybrid events and creating successful events with revolutionary tech solutions. The course fee is $895 USD for non-members and $745 USD for members. This self-paced course includes “Live expert hours” on a weekly basis with certification valid for 2 years.
- Certified Meeting Management (CMM) – Meeting Professionals International (MPI) in collaboration with Indiana University has designed a Certification which provides an experiential learning opportunity to strengthen the participants’ business management, leadership and meeting management skills. The program Cost is $4400 USD. To qualify for this program, the applicant must submit a résumé showing at least seven years of professional experience in the meeting and event industry with a minimum of three years of management experience with two years of profit and loss responsibility.
